The Rush to Slow Down

I got booked on a job I love. The job where I get to photograph some Lightpool events around Blackpool. Just one Lightpool event this time, this Lightpool event https://www.leftcoast.org.uk/beat-the-rush/

Blackpool the place I live in Lancashire, UK. A place close to my heart, but not always I wanted to “rush” away as soon as I had a chance. I ended up in a place with the biggest skateboarding community in Europe at the time , everyone rushed— it made me appreciate Blackpool. I graduated….no rush I thought.

But I ended up rushing back home, in a job where again I was forced to “rush” in recruitment for 10 years. I rushed at any opportunities presented to me to photograph……….I rushed at the chance to work full time as a photographer.

There are times to rush, there are times that the rush could be a feeling.

There are times not to rush. Rushing is an illusion — soon a “Rush” will take place here.

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. George Bernard Shaw
